There's hype for a reason

I wasn't going to buy this toy because I thought it was a lot of hype for a stupid toy. I thought it was just a baby fad and maybe it is. I received sophie as a gift and my daughter loves her. After I read about how it's made I understood why people like it. If anything happens to the one we have, I'll buy another. At first my dog wanted to make it her own but she's learned that not all things that sqeak are hers. If I can teach my high pray drive weimaraner that, there's hope for your dog too.

This is our favorite teether! It's adorable, French, natural rubber with food-grade paint. Every part about it is chewable-the horns are a favorite! And the squeak is perfect for eliciting those great chhesey smiles for photos.

Not great for youngish babies

I like the idea of Sophie - natural rubber, soft, small parts for baby to grab - but I'm not sure if I like her in reality. All of my mommy friends swear by Sophie and say she is their children's favorite teether, by my baby is three months old and loves stuffing everything in to her mouth EXCEPT Sophie. Perhaps this will change as she ages, but Sophie isn't a great toy for babies 3 months and under. Also, her squeaker sounds exactly like a dog toy, which I find amusing but if my Malti-poo gets to her, she won't survive the battle.

I don't know what it is about this toy, but my baby loves it. The only thing I did not like about it is that it has a very strong rubber smell fresh out of the packaging. Other than that, great purchase.
