Any of these feel familiar?
My frustration level soars. Tedium is stacking up around
me with the laundry and dishes. My hard work is going unappreciated.
None of this is what I bargained for. My attitude is sour
and I snap at my kids. Where can I find some peace?
I really couldn’t ask for anything more –
great job, loving family, wonderful friends. Yet, I still
don’t feel fulfilled. Why do I feel like something
is just missing?
I am at work again, under water, behind schedule and
knowing it will be another hectic and stressful day. I plow
through the meetings and the emails, I listen to bragging
and complaining, and I look forward to getting home to be
with my family. I finally get home only to have no energy
left for my family. It’s a vicious cycle and I’m
not sure I am meeting anyone’s needs including my
own. What am I working so hard for?
God loves you despite your fallen state. He has pursued
you, as He has pursued man from the beginning of time, to
join Him in a love relationship. Beyond an intellectual
understanding that Jesus is the Son of God, He longs for
you to encounter Him in a life-changing relationship –
the most important relationship there is.
If you don’t know the peace of Christ as the Lord
of your life, pray for God to open your heart as you sit
down and read the gospel of John. Challenge yourself with
Who Jesus
Is. Find a church that studies the Scripture diligently
as God’s inspired Word. Seek to know what the Bible
says about accepting God’s grace and salvation –believing
in Him, confessing Him as Lord, repenting of your sins,
and participating in a beautiful picture of His death and
resurrection through baptism. Nothing we can ever do contributes
to our salvation. God has provided all because of His love
and mercy. The gift is offered – do you accept it?
We have tasted the sweetness of salvation and seen God
working powerfully in our lives. Our prayer is that you
already know this for yourself, or that you come to know
it if you don’t already.
Share your story with us– we’d love to hear
it.
