Maya Wrap Lightly Padded Sling with DVD
|
|
|
|
|
Maya Wrap's Lightly Padded Sling is a compromise between a fully padded sling and an unpadded sling. It features a unique shoulder design
that is comfortable, easy to use and allows the fabric to spread a bit across your back. Anodized aluminum rings are light weight and yet strong. It also comes with a
pocket with a secure zipper closure.

Notes: The only difference between Padded Sling sizes is the length. Each size is 6" (15 cm) longer than the previous
size. A medium Maya Wrap will fit most people, both moms and dads. Even if dad is larger, he won't need the longer
tail for breast feeding coverage. The medium size Padded Sling will fit most adults and is about 77 inches long. If you are not interested in using the tail for breast feeding coverage, you might prefer to go one size smaller than recommended.

Here's my story- I have tried almost every type of shoulder style there is. I even used to sew my own slings because I thought I had it "down." Then I found out about Maya Wrap's Lightly padded sling. I had of course heard of Maya slings before but I was leery because of the shoulder style (the old style, not this one). I didn't know they had changed it!
The minute I touched one and tried it I was hooked! I have carried all sizes of babies and toddlers in this carrier and it is my favorite.
If I could only use two carrier for the rest of my life it would be a Beco Butterfly 2 and a Maya Wrap lightly padded.
Oh, and the woven fabric is amazing and SO supportive!

The great carrier debate runs on and on with my circle of friends. I asked my most experienced friend to suggest a carrier. As a result, she sent me a padded Maya Wrap. My husband and I both love it though I used it way more. I tried some of the carriers like Ergos and they never seemed to give me enough support (and I have a bad upper back and shoulders while my hubby has a bad lower back).
I used my Maya Wrap in all of the positions. As my little one hit about 18 months, I ended up still carrying her around until about 24 months. She's only 26 lbs now and I could still use it if she wasn't ready to run around on her own! It was great to use at farmer's markets when you need to go from stall to stall and don't want to chase a little one. Also, how many times has your little one wanted to be picked up and you end up balancing them on your hip. This does the same thing except it doesn't tire out your arm and it distributes the weight evenly. It's great and in my community, I see more mom's wearing these slings then any other type of carrier. If you're planning on going for a hike, stay away from this carrier but if you need something to walk around a mall, a park or a farmer's market on a regular basis, this is the one to get. Just watch the DVD. You'll get it!
