These incredibly soft and soothingly comfortable nursing pads provide the best conditions for successful breastfeeding. This original style features a double layer of wool, which is sufficient for most women's needs and they dry more quickly than the Ekstra version. Most women need only 2 pairs for the entire nursing period. When one pair feels wet, let it dry while wearing the second pair. Lanolin's cleansing properties keep the wool fresh and hygienic. The wool can absorb up to 40% of its weight without feeling wet. When the pads do feel wet, they're warm, not cold and clammy as with cotton or disposable pads.Your skin is kept dry and able to breathe, allowing sore nipples to heal.Scandinavian midwives have, for centuries, advised mothers to protect their breasts from wind and cold to prevent plugged ducts and mastitis. Larger sizes give protective coverage over greater a portion of the breast. When needed, wash by hand in lukewarm water with mild hair shampoo, alternating with LANACare 20% Lanolin-Soap. LANACare's lanolin-replenishing soap has a much higher lanolin content than most other wool-washes and will keep your pads feeling soft and soothing.

Worth it!!
I never write reviews, who has time when you are raising a household of soldiers?!! But this I have to speak about!! I just had my seventh baby in 18 years. I''ve seen a few prospects in my day and I have to say, hands down, these are the BEST pads I''ve used. Finally with my 7th baby newborn in arms, I have had not one leak on my clothing and that''s a first. These are SOFT and my favorite part is you don''t wash them every time!!! I have to wear pads even when I''m not nursing because all these years breastfeeding has caused me to need full time coverage!! These pads gave me that. I''m also an athlete and workout hard- no problem for these pads! Handles sweat like a charm!! I''m hoping this review can help another mama earlier on than having to wait until 7th baby to discover this gold!! Totally worth the $!

Don''t show through clothes, very comfy
I love these! I hated the disposable pads - they stuck to my skin and ended up giving me nipple thrush :/ I tried some cotton reusable nursing pads, but they don''t really prevent leaks and they are that annoyingly small circle shape that shows right through most clothes, even with a thicker nursing bra. I work, so I need something that I know won''t shift and show through my clothes, that I can wear all day, and that prevents leaks. I bought the medium one and this one does all that! It is really comfortable too - I always feel dry and when the pad is wet, it doesn''t have a soaked feeling - just a damp feeling. I do have an extra strong let-down, so these pads don''t help with that - for that I layer this wool pad over the Ekstra version, and that works perfectly. The price looks scary, but with those little reusable cotton pads, you need about 8-12, and they $6-8 for a 4-pack. This one is much better, and you only need one or two. Highly recommend! Wish I had these the first time around!
I was hesitant at first to purchase these since they are a bit pricey, but I have no regrets! I really wish I knew about these when I nursed my first daughter. With my first daughter I used disposable pads and I always had problems with chafing and had to use lanolin ointment the entire time I nursed. No problems this time around and I think these pads are the reason. They are super soft and comfy. Very absorbent too! I do recommend getting two sets so you have one to wear when the others are being washed. I would never consider wearing disposable breastpads again!

Super absorbent and soft
I thought these wool nursing pads would be itchy and hot, but to my surprise they are cool and soft. They are absorbent and you only need 2 pair, so they are cost effective as well. I was a little hesitant at first to purchase these because it is suggested that you only need to wash them when they start feeling "stiff", but I have had absolutely no odors or staining from not washing them daily. I use one pair while the other pair is drying.

Not pulling the wool over your eyes
I use these every day, except for when they are drying. On days when I don''t use the wool pads, I suffer the discomfort of my reusable cotton pads sticking to me. The wool is remarkably absorbent, and it is obvious when they need to be refreshed (they get a bit stiff.) After using these, you will never want to use disposable ones again. I am small chested (34D while nursing) so I purchased the x-small. Sometimes, they peek over the top of my bra cups. I would likely get the mini next time, but you could just measure out the diameter at home before buying. These are worth the investment.
