Breastfeeding Basics
Learn the basics of breastfeeding and avoiding common challenges. Taught by Leah Jolly, IBCLC, mom of 4 breastfed boys. She is passionate about helping moms and babies breastfeed successfully. Her work with La Leche League inspired her to go one step further and become certified as a lactation consultant. She is co-owner of Bay Area Breastfeeding and Education, a private practice lactation consulting business serving the Houston area.
Meet the Doula
Meet the Doula is a chance to meet local doula's, find out what a Birth / Postpartum Doula is, and what how they can help you. They will talk about your rights and options, as well as provide basic information about preparing for birth, things you can do (that they help with during birth) and what happens after the baby is born. They are always open to answering any questions you have, but they do not give medical advice. Dads are always welcome too! Taught by Tina, Tara, and/or Trina - Birth Doulas.
Essential Oils
Interested in Essential Oils and how they can benefit your family? Come learn exactly what essential oils are, what to look for in a therapeutic grade oil, and how to use them in your daily life. You are welcome to take a natural health scan using Compass technology to help determine which oils your body needs (for a small fee). Taught by Rebecca Miller or Adryan Dupre. Rebecca is co-owner of Nurtured Family and has enjoyed the benefits of essential oils with her family. Adryan has used essential oils since her childhood, has researched essential oil providers through the lens of her Chemical Engineering education, and loves to teach hands-on workshops on essential oils.
