Proper fitting bras are essential for nursing mothers, 8 out of 10 women wear the wrong size bra. These measurements are the best gauge in finding a bra. We have found that nursing mothers usually need 2 cup sizes larger than their pre-pregnancy size. Unless above average weight gain, the same pre-pregnancy band size should be correct.

Some Helpful Tips

  • Band shouldn’t ride up at back; you need a smaller band size or the hooks need to be tightened.
  • Wearing the proper band size can eliminate back fat.
  • Bras lose elasticity as worn, tighten hooks as needed.
  • If your straps fall down; this means your bra band is riding up and is too large. You probably need to go down a band size (and up a cup size).
  • Your straps should not be digging in, or you may need a larger cup size.
  • The center section between the cups should lie fairly close to the chest. If it pushes away from the body, the cup size is too small, because the breasts are pushing the bra away.
  • The perfect position for your breasts is midway between your shoulders and elbows.

This bra is perfect for busty women! Very supportive, yet comfortable! Easy to wear breast pads without them showing through clothing.

5 out of 5 stars Wonderful underwire nursing bra!

I was a little leary about purchasing an underwire nursing bra before the birth of my first child (for fear of clogged ducts), so I ended up purchasing a wire-free bra but never felt comfortable in it being a 34G. With the birth of my second child I decided to give one a try with a formed cup (very important to me) and an underwire. This Bella Materna is WONDERFUL!!! I would recommed it to any woman wearing a full-sized bra - you will not be disappointed!!!
