Beco Butterfly 2

|
The new Beco Butterfly 2 is a beautiful pack style baby carrier designed to carry your little one in front or in back. The comfortable and stylish designs are made from 100% cotton fabrics that are machine washable. It can be used with infants from 7 lb up to 45 lb children and worn by adults between 4'9” - 6'2" comfortably. An instructional DVD is included with every Beco Butterfly 2. Made in the USA.
Special Features of the Beco Butterfly 2
- Removable Infant Insert : The Beco Butterfly 2 is the ONLY carrier on the market with this (patent pending) feature. Infant insert enables even the smallest babies to ride safely and comfortably, in ergonomically proper position in our baby carrier. Infant insert can be removed once baby outgrow the need for it. Recommended use for infant insert is 7-15 lbs. Infant insert is INCLUDED with purchase, which furthers the value of the purchase, parents do not need to purchase any accessory in order to have a complete package.
- Inside Panel : shoulder straps of the baby carrier are attached to the carrier's inside panel, which improves the distribution of the baby's weight (thus the carrier is VERY comfortable for the wearer and the baby), and it enables parent's to pass baby from one wearer to another without taking the baby out of the carrier (very convenient feature). Inside panel contributes to the safe use of the carrier (baby sits between this panel and the outside main body of the carrier, these two components together creates a harness for baby's body), also loading baby on wearer's back is much safer and easier with this inside panel, because it prevents baby from slipping down (or falling out).
- Removable Head Rest (hood): the main purpose of the head rest is to support a head of a sleeping child, but can be also used as a protection from elements (sun, rain shower, snow - although it is NOT waterproof). Users will get the best use out of the hood with children between 6 months to 2 years, but the hood can be used with children younger or older then this range. Head rest is stored in a pocket on the waist belt, and can be used in front and back carry. When you have the carrier in the back position use one hand to find the strap and then pull it up towards your shoulders. Once you pull it up you can then feel for the other strap with your other hand. Snap both straps into place on each shoulder strap.
- Stay Put Strap : basically a simple 1" wide belt with two d-rings, which is sewn at the waist belt and serves to purpose to keep the baby carrier rolled neatly up for storage, or carrier rolled up this way can be attached round wearer's waist like a fanny pack and perform as a "hip seat" for a child, this would be a hand assisted hip carry (opposed to hand free front and back carry). Although a user would need a hand to keep child seated on the hip, it is more healthy and comfortable then pushing ones hip out to create a 'seat' for the baby.

This is a great carrier! Trust me, after trying 3 buckled and 3 woven/soft carriers, this is the way to go! It's very comfortable in both the front and back carry and my husband loves wearing our 7-month-old as well. The inside panel helps both me and baby boy feel secure. Also, great designs! :)

The Beco Butterfly was the first carrier I ever got that was just *amazing* for me and my daughter. She is now four and I still use for her on occasion. I can't wait to use it for my newborn.
The infant insert is great for tiny, tiny babies, plus the panel makes it so easy to do back carries.

My husband wanted a structured carrier to use once our son started getting a little too heavy for our Moby wrap, and this one is great. We both use it, and it makes shopping trips and other outings much easier :)

I got this carrier when my son was about 9 months old. I had been using (and loving!) a homemade soft stretchy wrap (similar to a Moby wrap) until then, but he was getting too heavy for that style of carrier. I also really wanted to be able to carry him on my back quickly and easily. I had been wanting this carrier for a some time before then, but the high price had always held me back. In retrospect, this carrier is worth every penny! Had I known how much I would love it, I would have invested in it MUCH sooner. It is so easy to get your baby in and out of this carrier and feels great either on the front or the back. After just a few days I was able to buckle it around my waist as I was getting out of the car, grab my son, and get him on my back while walking by the time I got to the store entrance. I chose this one over the Ergo because I thought the design was more attractive and it came in much cuter prints. Though we used this carrier primarily for our son, occasionally we carried our four year old in it just fine! I LOVE my Beco!

I got this for my daughter when she was 18 months old, we were traveling and did not want to bring a stroller. She had out grown the sling we had been using. She loved using it- and would always ask if she could go in her "Pak Pak". When My son was born I started using it with him when he was about 4 weeks old. It put him to sleep and calmed him. I can still carry my daughter in it -she is 3 and 33 pounds. They are also super cute -in addition to being fully functional and portable.
